Job Description
A global retail client is seeking a Technical Solutions Architect to serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders, global partners (including Greater China), and engineering teams. This person will be onsite in either San Ramon or Beverly Hills CA. The role is responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable technical solutions while supporting global expansion initiatives. Fluency in Mandarin is required to support collaboration with Mandarin speaking stakeholders, vendors, and regional partners.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
• Design end to end technical solutions across eCommerce, retail systems, supply chain, and customer platforms
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and performant architectures
• Evaluate build vs. buy decisions and recommend optimal technologies
• Create architecture diagrams, solution documentation, and technical specifications
• Act as a technical liaison between U.S.-based teams and Mandarin speaking partners or teams in Greater China
• Lead technical discussions, workshops, and requirement gathering sessions in both English and Mandarin
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Infrastructure, and external vendors
• Partner with engineering teams during implementation to ensure architectural alignment
• Provide technical guidance during integrations, migrations, and platform rollouts
• Support post deployment optimization, scalability, and performance improvements
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non technical business leaders
• Present solution options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership
• Ensure solutions align with Alo’s global growth, security, and operational standards

Skills and Requirements
_
• 8+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Technical Architecture, Senior Engineering or Technical Consulting roles
• Strong experience designing systems involving: APIs & system integrations
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• E commerce, retail, or consumer facing applications
• Knowledge with microservices and modern application architectures
• Understanding of data flows, integrations, and middleware platforms
• Foundation in security, scalability, and performance best practices
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required
o Ability to conduct technical discussions, read documentation, and present solutions in Mandarin
